Think and Grow Rich
‘Think and Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill
This is a book that I would say all successful people have read, and without doubt, helped them on their road to success.
‘Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve.’
Lately around the social networking loop, there has been article after article on focus, desire, dream, goal and wealth creation through internet marketing and social networking.
Even the word ‘Web 2.0′ has everyone buzzing and you can almost feel the excitement developing for 2008. Whenever I hear about having a desire or focusing on your goals I can’t help but think of Napoleon’s famous quote.
Some of us have huge dreams, while others are happy with small dreams. If financial freedom is your goal then your desire has to be a ‘Burning Desire To Win.’
You have to want something so bad that it drives you forward every moment. Not a desire that is temporarily ‘fixed’ but requires a little fuel again later. It has to be a never ending desire!
I see in my two young men, ‘burning desires.’ I also see that they know they can achieve that desire if they believe it strongly enough. They know anything is possible and have had successes already.
If only we were all taught at birth these success principles and positive life goals. Wouldn’t it make a difference to so many of our belief systems.
The challenge for us as adults who were possibly poorly or negatively programmed in our own formative years is to not allow our remaining years to be defined by this, but to recognize our own worth and potential and to consistently work toward achieving our goals and desires. We should all ‘Think and Grow Rich.’

Thinkin’ is all good and well but nuthin happens without action. “Achieve” is an active verb indicating it requires an action to make it happen. Thinking about it, having faith and believing are all great methods for positive affirmation but nuthin happens without doin’ sumthin’!
Agreed, there is a physical requirement to actually make most things happen.
However my readings and my lifes’ experiences have led me to a realization that thinking must precede all action.
Ie: Poor thought, poor action, poor result, or hopefully applied thinking, directed action, desired result.
Taken further, I personally believe that consistent directed thinking (as opposed to idle random thoughts)can bring into reality those things being thought about with less physical input than otherwise required.
In 1966 I was in the final stages of negotiation with the Napolean Hill Institute for integration with my newsletter publication, National Employment Report. This would have been, far and away, the biggest business deal of my life. Then, as the result of a catastrophic car wreck in August of that year–a wreck which required 16 doctors and 6 major surgeries to put Humpty Dumpty (me) back together again–the whole deal fell through. By the time I was able to return to work, 3 years later, it was all I could do to save my business from going under.
I appreciate your nice words, in both your review and shout, Susan. I like your blog. Nice “reach.” Keep up the good work.
Jack, by your results you have obviously risen above an event that would have stopped most continuing down their chosen path.
I bet you’ve been a quiet inspiration to many.
To have even had the opportunity to negotiate with the Napolean Hill Institute is ‘awesome.’
Now that I have started working from home, it is wonderful to know that I have a new place to visit to help me stay focused. I truly believe in the theory that being prepared for our success is a firm foundation, from which to build. You have attracted the life you have, by the person you have become. (Jim Rohn)
Open to positive influence and uplifting words, I am rising above my previous life. Thanks for your post.
